Each year the AME BC Health and Safety Awards Breakfast honours the recipients of the Safe Day Everyday Gold Award and the David Barr Award. This event will take place on Wednesday, January 30, from 7:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. in the Marine Room at the Westin Bayshore. Please note a ticket is required for this event.

Denis Gourde

Corporate Director – Regulatory and External Affairs

Denis Gourde is Corporate Director, Regulatory and External Affairs for Agnico-Eagle Mines. He has held this position since February 2011. Since joining Agnico-Eagle Mines in 2007, he was, successively, General Superintendent Mine operation, General Manager both for the Meadowbank Mine and General Manager Nunavut. Prior to that Mr. Gourde from 1998 to 2007 worked for Cambior/Iamgold and held successive positions of Mine Manager, Sleeping Giant Mine; Corporate Production System Manager and General Services Manager at Rosebel Gold Mine in Suriname. He also worked 3 years as a Project Manager for MSV Resources and 9 years with Ross Finlay in various capacities. Mr. Gourde completed a mining engineering degree at the university Ecole Polytechnique of Montreal in 1987 and has been since then member of OIQ in Quebec.
