Joanney Kearney is a Partner & Co-Owner of Smithcom Limited, a reputation management advisory firm. Joanne has fifteen years of experience in corporate affairs, with a focus on transactional communications, issues and crisis management and reputation-building campaigns across the the mining, natural resources and capital markets sectors. She has acted as a communications advisor on many of Canada’s largest mergers and acquisitions, numerous shareholder activism mandates, corporate restructurings, operational crises and litigation issues. Joanne was the senior strategist behind the 2016 Integra Gold Rush Challenge, the 2017-2019 #DisruptMining initiatives and the ongoing This is Mining campaign by the Ontario Mining Association.

Join us for an interactive crisis communications session, where attendees will learn crisis communications ‘rules of the road,’ simulate the first hours of a crisis, and practice effective digital communications response.
We will conduct breakout sessions that mimic an escalating crisis scenario on the topic of community opposition and activism. All participants will be briefed on the scenario and workshop activity sheets will be provided. Crisis experts will provide real-time guidance, feedback and key learnings throughout the session.
