Presentation: Facing a crisis?  Practice How to Communicate through it

Join us for an interactive crisis communications session, where attendees will learn crisis communications ‘rules of the road,’ simulate the first hours of a crisis, and practice effective digital communications response.

We will conduct breakout sessions that mimic an escalating crisis scenario on the topic of community opposition and activism.  All participants will be briefed on the scenario and workshop activity sheets will be provided.  Crisis experts will provide real-time guidance, feedback and key learnings throughout the session.

A company builds reputation over many years, but may ruin it in five minutes if they don’t communicate effectively in a crisis.  In our 21st century world, communication is constant and immediate. Within minutes of a crisis breaking, media will call, social media will tweet, investors will be react, stakeholders will demand answers and your employees will want action. During this time, you cease being a mineral exploration company and become a crisis manager. Are you prepared? How and where you communicate, when you communicate and to whom you communicate are essential components of an effective digital communications strategy during times of crisis. Join this workshop to discuss helpful tips to build, protect and enhance your corporate reputation while you navigate the most intense moment for your organization.
