AME Webinar: ESG in Mineral Exploration

Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practices and disclosures have become an increasing factor that guide investment decisions in all industry sectors. Not only with ‘socially conscious’ investors, but with investment firms and funds of all sizes. The ESG integration in investment decision making has been evolving quickly and there are many different approaches on how to manage and communicate a company’s ESG performance. A number of rating systems have also been developed to measure ESG performance, but they are often inconsistent with each other and directed at large corporations, such as mining companies, rather than smaller exploration companies.

This webinar will provide an overview of the ESG landscape, why it is important, the trends and current standards and rating system. It will also outline the practices that many mineral exploration companies are already doing that fall into the ESG realm and provide tips and suggestions on how junior companies can enhance their ESG practices and manage and effectively communicate those practices to the investment community.

The webinar will be presented by Ani Markova an accomplished portfolio manager focused on the global mining sector and commodity markets, and Michelle Tanguay an experienced industry professional who advises exploration companies on how to meet current market expectations related to ESG.
