Introduction
Mineral exploration and development provide opportunities for economic and social advancement throughout the world. The 1,100 mineral exploration and mining companies based in BC are active in mineral exploration and mining in at least 80 countries globally.
AME encourages all members to be good corporate citizens in the face of often difficult circumstances in many parts of the world. We recognize our record is not perfect but through sharing best practices and adopting high standards we believe we can not only develop mineral properties, but also bring better lives to the people we engage.
AME is committed to assisting our members reach their highest potential and works closely with the Canadian Institute of Mining & Metallurgy (CIM), PDAC, and other industry partners on initiatives that promote social responsibility.

Guiding Principles
The Association for Mineral Exploration (AME) recognizes the importance of building and maintaining mutually beneficial, respectful and lasting relationships based on the principles of social responsibility to maximize the positive economic and social benefits from mineral exploration and development while adhering to and promoting environmental sustainability.
