Public Awareness and Education in Schools

December – February 2020

The students were given a presentation on the importance of minerals and mining in our everyday lives as well as how minerals are found through exploration.  The students learn the history of the Chamber of Mines and the history of mining in the Kootenays, as well as how the environment is cared for during and after the mining process and the importance of consultation with the First Nations and local communities.
