Vancouver, B.C, – February 10, 2025 – The Association for Mineral Exploration (AME) has confirmed it does not endorse the current draft Mineral Claims Consultation Framework (MCCF) that has been proposed by the provincial government.
After listening to members and advocating to government for many months, AME believes that the draft MCCF, which is due to be implemented by March 26, 2025, will negatively impact AME members’ ability to stake mineral claims in a timely and commercially viable manner.
Over the coming weeks, AME will continue to work with the province to seek amendments to the draft MCCF to ensure a process that treats everyone involved in the process fairly, protects their intellectual property, and is not cost prohibitive.
