Vancouver, B.C, – March 27, 2025 – Following the introduction of British Columbia’s Mineral Claims Consultation Framework (MCCF) this week, the Association for Mineral Exploration (AME) has sent an open letter to Premier Eby.
While the letter thanks the Government of British Columbia for meeting the March 26, 2025, deadline to implement the MCCF, it points out challenges in the development process and is clear about remaining issues. It calls for proper resourcing to process applications, and that the MCCF is fully operationalized and any issues addressed before the proposed modernization of the Mineral Tenure Act is started.
The letter also recommends effort is put into completing Notice of Work permits to free up investment and get people working.
The Association for Mineral Exploration (AME) is the lead association for the mineral exploration and development industry based in British Columbia. Established in 1912, AME represents, advocates and promotes the interests of more than 6,000 members who are engaged in mineral exploration and development in BC and globally.
