Dr. Ayesha Ahmed is a professional geoscientist with over 15 years of experience in mineral discovery, orebody knowledge, production, and academia. Her expertise covers diverse deposit types across four continents, including porphyry Cu-Au, Archean greenstone Au, and sediment-hosted massive sulfide. She is currently the Director of Site Evaluations and Project Advancement at Regeneration Enterprises, where she leads technical assessments of mine waste reprocessing and restoration opportunities to benefit the environment and local communities.

An early career highlight during her time with Gold Fields Ltd. in Western Australia was her role in the 2012 discovery and resource definition of the multi-million-ounce Invincible Au deposit. These efforts, and those of the exploration team, were highlighted in 2025 by the podcast series The Discovery Files.  Prior to her current role with Regeneration, she spent six years at Teck Resources, working across exploration and advanced projects, integrating geology, geochemistry, and geophysics for global targeting, deposit characterization, and technology assessment, ultimately serving as Manager of Geoscience, Orebody Knowledge.

Ayesha has served on the AME Roundup committee for several years and is the 2026 AME Roundup Conference Vice Chair. She also volunteers with the Society of Economic Geologists and the Downtown Eastside Neighbourhood House. Ayesha holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. from the Mineral Deposits Research Unit (MDRU) at the University of British Columbia, and a Ph.D. from the Centre of Ore Deposit and Earth Science (CODES) at the University of Tasmania. She has authored and co-authored more than 10 peer reviewed articles in the field of ore deposit sciences.
