Dave is an accomplished finance and operations leader with over 20 years of diverse, global experience in the mining and resource sectors. Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, his openness to opportunity and proactive approach to seeking progress have provided him with broad exposure, valuable learning experiences, and a unique combination of technical and commercial skills.
Dave obtained his financial accounting and technical certifications while working in KPMG’s Infrastructure and Mining Audit Practice for nine years across three countries. In 2011, he transitioned from public practice into industry and has since held progressive roles in several mining companies, developing a wide range of commercial experience across both operations and projects.
He has played a hands-on role in developing mining and resource projects, leading teams to create value through purpose, motivation, energy, and integrity. Dave has built and developed companies from concept to construction in Canada, negotiated and executed long-term agreements with multiple First Nations in British Columbia and Ontario, and managed significant and complex financing processes and capital raises for new and private investments.
Dave currently serves as the sole executive for several of Pacific Road Capital’s portfolio companies, including BC-based North Coal Limited. His role involves significant responsibility and exposure to evolving priorities and challenges, which he approaches with balance, purpose, and sound decision-making.
