MineralsEd

MineralsEd supports teachers to develop classroom materials related to minerals, mining and geoscience and delivers workshops and field trips for teachers and their students.

Birtannia Mine Museum

The Britannia Mine Museum preserves the material and social history of mining in BC to educate the public about mining: past, present and future.

Below BC

Below BC connects a range of audiences with all aspects of earth science with creative, engaging and compelling events while providing resources both online and in-person.

Kamloops Exploration Group

KEG has developed a successful outreach program including school visits, public lectures, grants, and scholarships to help educate and inform the public about mining and prospecting in the region.

Smithers Exploration Group

SEG engages with schools, community organizations and First Nations to bring information about the mineral exploration and the benefits to the economy of the northwest and the province.

East Kootenay Chamber of Mines

The East Kootenay Chamber of Mines (EKCM) encourage support for exploration and mining activities through increased public awareness and understanding through interactive educational programs in schools and events.

Regional Exploration Groups

AME Regional Outreach in Action

Every year, AME provides funding to support regional public outreach across the province. Public outreach and education are done by the regional exploration group representatives and volunteers and aim to reach a variety of audiences from business groups to school children. The events and projects are planned to engage audiences outside of the industry in order to raise awareness of the value of mineral exploration and mining.

Thank you to these groups for their work promoting the mineral exploration industry and for supporting AME’s Strategic Plan and Priorities; Successful Exploration, Public Awareness and Stakeholder Awareness, Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation, Member Benefits and Services and AME Roundup.

  • Below BC

    Below BC connects a range of audiences with all aspects of earth science with creative, engaging and compelling events while providing resources both online and in-person.

  • CMEBC – Chamber of Mines Eastern BC

    The Chamber of Mines Eastern BC is a non-profit organization that provides resources to the public and the mineral exploration and mining sectors. It advocates for the industry, offers educational courses, and has contributed to significant investments in the Kootenay-Boundary region through its successful graduates.

  • EKCM – East Kootenay Chamber of Mines

    The East Kootenay Chamber of Mines (EKCM) is a non-profit organization, incorporated in 1992 to actively promote mining, exploration and education in south-eastern British Columbia.

  • KEG – Kamloops Exploration Group

    Kamloops Exploration Group (KEG) is a registered, volunteer-run, not-for-profit society that promotes and supports the interests of responsible mining and exploration for minerals, metals and petroleum.

  • MEG – Vancouver Mining Exploration Group

    The MEG exists to promote the sociable exchange of geological and technical information at a series of luncheon meetings held during the traditional ‘off-season’ (fall through spring of each year). The meetings feature talks on new discoveries, breaking developments and deposit descriptions.

  • SEG – Smithers Exploration Group

    Smithers Exploration Group (SEG) has been serving and promoting the mineral industry in Northwest British Columbia since 1971. It is dedicated to the advancement of geology, exploration and mining in the northwest.

  • VIX Group – Vancouver Island Exploration Group

    The mission of the VIX Group is to inspire and support responsible mineral exploration and geological education on Vancouver Island, fostering a community that values environmental stewardship, sustainable practices, and shared knowledge.
