Show Notes Dec 15, 2022

Episode 10 was produced on Dec 15, 2022, on the traditional, unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.

In this episode, we talk about regulation changes that potentially impact the bookends to mineral exploration: raising capital and mine construction.

In the first interview, we reconnect with Dentons corporate partner Kimberly Burns for an honest conversation raising capital for exploration through the new Listed Issuer Financing Exemption introduced by the Canadian Securities Administrators on September 8, 2022. Kimberly steps us through the benefits and limitations of the CSA exemption that took effect a couple of weeks ago on November 21 and warns us about some cross-border implications.

Leanne C. Krawchuk, KC, Partner, Dentons LLP

In our second interview, we take a deep dive with Dentons Partner Leanne Krawchuk and Senior Associate Chelsea Wilson into changes to Alberta’s Builders’ Lien Act that came into force in August this year. The new regulation introduces some major changes for actors in the construction sector, and I ask Chelsea and Leanne how these changes might impact operations in Alberta and if similar changes might be on their way to BC.

Dentons have more detailed information on their website about both of these topics:
