Thanks for listening to #ExplorationMatters, the podcast for people interested in matters related to mineral exploration and why exploration matters.
Episode seven was produced on Sep 1, 2022, on the traditional, unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
In this episode, we dive into climate matters and talk to two CEOs of exploration companies who are developing projects with carbon neutrality at front of mind.
Our first guest is Patrick Evans, President, CEO and Director of Mayfair Gold, who is developing the Fenn-Gib project near Timmins, Ontario, as Canada’s first carbon-neutral gold project. Mayfair Gold announced receipt of a BB rating from Digbee in February 2022.
Our second guest is Cooper Quinn, CEO of CO2 Lock Corp; a new company focused on developing carbon capture and storage operations in geological settings worldwide.
In industry news, we talk about the in-principle agreement for Rio Tinto to acquire full ownership of Turquoise Hill, giving Rio Tinto direct ownership of the giant Oyu Tolgoi copper-gold mine in Mongolia, further news from Eskay Mining Corp who are drilling promising VMS targets at Scarlet Valley, and Eagle Plains Resources drill campaign on the Vulcan deposit near the world-class Sullivan silver-lead-zinc deposit.
