Keivan is an expert in corporate affairs, sustainable natural resource development, cross-cultural communication, and international business strategy. He has held senior political, public service, and private sector roles where he has worked to responsibly bring Canadian commodities to world markets while ensuring local communities were involved in decision-making and benefited from resource development. These roles include serving as Ministerial Advisor to the Deputy Premier where he held a lead role on the provincial energy and housing files, as Senior Advisor to the Leader of the Opposition, as a Senior Policy Advisor with Fisheries and Oceans Canada, and in the Energy and Environment Division of the Canadian Embassy in Washington, D.C.

Keivan is currently Director, External Relations & Communications for Canada with Newmont. In this role, he leads major government relations, Indigenous relations, and strategic initiatives across North America and provides expert counsel to senior executives.

Keivan sits on the board of Mining Association of British Columbia, on the Public Affairs and Indigenous Relations Committees for Mining Association Canada, and on the Indigenous Relations Committee for Ontario Mining Association. Keivan also serves as the Board Vice-Chair of YMCA BC, the largest non-profit and childcare provider in BC, and is chairing the organization’s flagship Langara Redevelopment Project Advisory Committee — a mixed-housing and community amenity project with Musqueam Nation. He formerly served as the Vice-Chair of BC Adaptive Snowsports, the provincial sport organization which supports 15 adaptive snow sports clubs offering skiing and snowboarding programs for over 2000 students with physical and cognitive differences.

Keivan holds a Masters in Global Business through a joint program between University of Victoria, University of Glasgow, and Chulalongkorn University of Thailand and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science through University of Victoria. He also holds a Certificate in Mining Law through Osgoode Law School, a Certificate in International Trade through the Forum for International Trade Training and Export Development Canada, and a Certificate in Energy Innovation and Emerging Technologies through Stanford.
