Vancouver, B.C., Canada – The Association for Mineral Exploration (AME) is thrilled to announce our partnership with Consulate General of Ireland, Vancouver. Cathy Geagan, Consul General of Ireland to Western Canada met with the AME team earlier this month to discuss the importance of critical minerals, reconciliation, and the geopolitical importance of a strong Canada-Ireland relationship.

Association for Mineral Exploration’s (AME) President and CEO, Keerit Jutla, noted:

BC critical minerals are vital to our western allies. We are excited to provide AME members with greater access to our partners in Ireland and the European Union. We aim to facilitate European investment in BC critical minerals and provide our members with connections and access to the incredible talent pool of individuals from Ireland looking to work in mineral exploration and mining here in BC.”

Consulate General of Ireland to Western Canada, Cathy Geagan, noted:

Ireland consistently ranks among the best countries in which to invest and do business, and is the only English-speaking, common law country in the European Union. Minerals are an essential element of our daily lives, and of the transition to a circular economy.  The progress of humankind can be mapped by our use of minerals, from the Bronze Age and the Iron Age, through to some of the greatest gold and silver treasures of Ireland’s cultural heritage. As we celebrate 85 years of Canada-Ireland diplomatic relations this year, we look forward to deepening our connections with British Columbia.
