The second annual BC Mining HR Diversity Award will launch during the BC Mineral Exploration and Development Human Resources Forum at Mineral Exploration Roundup on January 30, 2014. The award recognizes an organization’s outstanding commitment to encouraging and supporting diversity within the workforce in the B.C. mining industry. The recipients of the inaugural 2013 award were the BC Aboriginal Mine Training Association (BC AMTA) and New Gold for their success in bringing industry and Aboriginal communities together in employing and retaining employees for the New Afton mine, near Kamloops. The award is supported by the Mining Association of British Columbia and the BC HR Task Force: Exploration, Mining, Stone, Sand & Gravel, and is sponsored by EY (Ernst & Young).
