After demonstrating unwavering faith in God and the strong will to live Floyd went to be with his heavenly Father after an 11 month battle with cancer, enduring it all through his humor, love and devotion.With his devoted wife, Linda, and stepson, Darren, by his side, Floyd passed away at 12:58 a.m., May 30, 2018 at the Campbell River Hospital.
Born in Deer Lake, NF, moved with his parents to Stephenville, NF, and finally settled in Campbell River, BC in 1977 for work and raised his family. Predeceased by his previous wife, Delphine, and parents Myrtle and Hedley. Leaving to mourn his wife, Linda; Stepsons (previous wife, Delphine) Darren, Stephen, Brian (Maria) and PaulChiasson (Jessica); daughter, Rachel (Danny Le); Grandchildren Justin and Austin Chiasson, Deja Olney and Skye Le; brothers Charlie (Colleen), Garry (Vi), Dean (Janice); sisters, Deanna (Ken Blake) Dallas (Jim Lindsey), Cynthia (Tom Jones), Lurley (Rob Lilly) and Darlene.

Floyd will also be greatly missed by countless friends and acquaintances from his 20+ years in mining, 40 year connection with Campbell River Christian Churches,classmates, his patrons at the Second Hand Store, his tenants at Pioneer Market Building, his Serious Coffee music friends, and buddies at The Campbell River Auction. Floyd shared his Passion for music and great Love for God with all these people.
Unending thanks to the Cancer Clinic in Victoria, the nurses and staff at the Campbell River Hospital, Health Care workers at Island Health who cared for him at home, and Dr. Willem Prinsloo; all of who so tenderly cared for him. The Family is so thankful for the outpouring of friendship and support shown to them and Floyd during this most difficult time.
Floyd was not only a Father but an unconditional friend to all his children; to their mother; to his siblings; and along with being an outstanding loving husband, to his soul mate,Linda; and to all that knew him. He touched so many lives and was always there to lend an ear and pray for any need.
Resting at Sutton’s Funeral Home, 502 S. Dogwood Street, Campbell River on Thursday, June 7, from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Funeral Service from the Campbell River Baptist Church, 260 S. Dogwood Street on Friday, June 8, at 10:00 a.m.
